Summary

It was a blustery night with wind blowing 15 to 20 from the SSW (RC reported 10kts but I don't believe it). JYC course #9 (Start - SRM Z - JYC 13 - Finish) distance 3.1nm. We started with a #1, switched to the #3, then back to the #1 before the start.

This was another learning experience for new crew. The leach of the #1 Genoa tore and needs to be restitched. Jenn Stone joined us for the 1st time and proved to be a big help for the crew. Jenn handled pit and general help all over the boat when needed. Other crew included Jane and Bix on the foredeck, Denise, Steve Caldwell and Kevin doing tailing and grinding.

We did a less than stellar spinnaker set and ended up having the halyard on the wrong side of the jib (this was from a sail change before the start). Bix tried to take a swim during a tack but held on to the jib sheet while dangling over the stbd side.

It was a good night to drink beer on the water after the race.
